130 years of family heritage
Key dates

Since 1895, the Stassen family has embodied excellence and innovation in beverages. It all began with the creation of a cider house in the valley of Aubel, Belgium. This is where Maison 1895 was born, establishing a family tradition that has lasted for over a century. Driven by a passion for quality beverages, the Stassen family quickly gained recognition for their craftsmanship and artisanal ciders, known for their quality and authenticity.

The third generation of the Stassen family — Jean, Hubert, and Eugène Stassen — expanded their expertise in cider by creating sparkling wines. By importing wines from the Loire and mastering blending, filtration, and carbonation, they launched the brands Bouquet-Moulin and Paul Riant, thus laying the foundation for their expertise in sparkling wines.

With the arrival of the fourth generation of the Stassen family in the 1980s, the production of sparkling wines took a significant leap in quality. The initial method of simple carbonation was replaced by the closed-tank fermentation technique, allowing for finer and more consistent effervescence. This evolution marked a new milestone in Maison Stassen’s expertise in sparkling wines.

In the late 1980s, anticipating changes in consumer habits and the growing demand for healthier alternatives, the Stassen family made a bold decision to venture into dealcoholization. Investments were made in state-of-the-art facilities, accompanied by the development of innovative processes, positioning the company as a pioneer in Europe in this field.

The Vintense brand was born, quickly becoming the leader in non-alcoholic wines in Belgium. Synonymous with quality and innovation, it offers a diverse range of still and sparkling wines, ensuring an authentic tasting experience. Today, Vintense is a reference both in Belgium and internationally.
