130 years of never standing still

The spirit of a family legacy

Since 1895, the Stassen family has perpetuated a family heritage rooted in the heart of the Herve region in Belgium. Over five generations, the family has built a signature recognised far beyond its borders, evolving its craft without ever losing sight of its roots. Today, led by Philippe Stassen (4th generation) and Anne Stassen (5th generation), Maison 1895 designs and distributes beverages made for sharing, with or without alcohol, in more than 60 countries.

From heritage to technical expertise

A family's journey

The beginnings in the Pays de Herve

The story begins with Léon Stassen, in the heart of the Pays de Herve. There, he crafts his first artisanal ciders with a simple belief: a drink deserves to be well-crafted — and shared.

The family venture grows

The second generation takes up the torch and expands the family business. The original workshop grows, expertise is passed on, and the story begun by Léon Stassen becomes firmly rooted in the Pays de Herve.

Mastering dealcoholisation

The Stassen family becomes one of Europe’s pioneers in vacuum dealcoholisation. A demanding technical choice made long before the market took notice, with one idea in mind: preserve what matters most — taste.

A new ambition

Following the sale of the cidery, Philippe Stassen takes back the brands he helped develop and founds Neobulles with his daughter Anne — now Maison 1895. A more agile model, built around brands and the freedom to create.

An international presence

Maison 1895 is present in more than 50 countries, across retail and hospitality. An independent family-owned house that continues to move forward with the same high standards — and a deep understanding of its markets.

« We do this out of a passion for life. The simple pleasure of a good drink. The conviviality of a shared table. For years, we have watched the way people drink evolve — their tastes, occasions and choices. Our role is to be there, and to live up to every moment. What guides us has not changed since 1895: creating drinks that find their place naturally in people’s lives.»
